 The common house fly (Musca domestica Linnaeus) is a well-documented vector of pathogens due to its frequent contact with unsanitary environments, such as sewers, refuse, and decaying organic matter. The house fly’s feeding habits involve ingesting faecal matter, wound exudates, sputum, and other decaying substances. Possessing sponging-sucking mouthparts, house flies initiate digestion by regurgitating partially digested material onto new food sources, to liquefy them for consumption. Furthermore, their indiscriminate defecation occurs wherever they land, including on your food. House flies are known to carry and transmit at least 65 human diseases, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., typhoid fever, dysentery, cholera, poliomyelitis, yaws, anthrax, tularaemia, leprosy, and tuberculosis. 

This is why you don’t want to take the expedient route of simply putting up the cheapest light trap, just to tick the box that you have a trap in place. You need to use a system that has been tested and proven to keep you and your customers safe.
